October 24th Photo - BC Crop for Kids

This weekend out in Abbotsford, a very special fundraiser took place for BC Children's Hospital. The Scrapaholics, my scrapbooking group raised and presented a $1000 cheque. Last year, this event raised over $22,000. It was a great time and I am proud to be a part of such a worthwhile cause! Today's photo is of all of us in our tropical themed attire presenting our cheque to Mary and Sandra, the organizers for Crop for Kids.

Everyone is familiar with Grant Wood's famous American Gothic painting. Here's a wild project that Emily did with her class. They were to take the original design and modernize it. I love all the texture in her version!

Susan and I headed out to the Creative Expo in Langley today and took a Vintage Banner class by Making Memories. We met up with Izzy and had lunch and then shopped. I bought some yummy vintage embellishments and a couple little kits that I can't wait to work on!

It's the Turkey Sale up at Whistler Mountain this weekend and hubby and Emily went and picked up new boots for this season's ski trips. We got a great deal on some fabulous equipment that was reduced to up to 70% off!

Would you believe, I never really use cook books? Having a chef for a hubby has it's advantages! I am enjoying my new slow cooker recipe book though! It's super easy....the way I like to cook! lol

I finished my calendars tonight for my Scrapaholics Calendar Swap. We each sign up for a month and then swap them out. Each calendar is a work of art and I love having hanging my calendar from my friends in my studio. When I receive this one back, I'm going to hang it in our kitchen.
